Questions

What should a catering invoice include?

Your business details, an invoice number, the date and due date, the client, the event date, venue, guests, each line of work (for example food, appetizers and service staff) with quantity and rate, then tax and the balance due.

When should I send a catering invoice?

Send it the day the job is finished, while the work is fresh. On longer jobs, invoice at agreed stages.

Do I charge sales tax on catering services?

It depends on your state. Some states tax services like catering and others don't, and rules can differ for labor and materials. Check with your state's department of revenue, then enter the rate in the Tax box.

How do I show a deposit the client already paid?

Enter it in the Paid box. The invoice subtracts it and shows the balance due.
